We are delighted to say that our new covered practice range facility is now in place and ready for use by members.

We would like to say a massive thank you to those who have contributed to making it possible.

Firstly, thank you to the Murray Sharp Foundation for their generous grant which has helped to fund this project. As Murray’s first golf club, and where he played all his junior golf, Old Ranfurly was always a very special place for him. As a club, we have an extremely healthy junior section with more than 100 junior members, and this new facility will help the club continue to develop and support this section. We are delighted that the facility will be in place ahead of the Foundation’s golf day this Friday.

We would also like to thank the Malcolm Group who sponsored the installation of the concrete base for the facility, a very generous and appreciated gesture by everyone at the club.

A thank you also goes to Arnold Clark who made a contribution towards the facility and the volunteers who have helped with the practice range over the last week, it is hugely appreciated.

With regards to the use of the facility, members are now welcome to utilise it to practice. The following should be always adhered to when using the practice range:

• Balls will not be provided and will need to be brought and collected by members.
• Please be mindful of other golfers on the practice range at all times.
• Ensure only one player per bay.
• Only swing clubs within a designated bay area.
• Anyone under the age of 12 MUST be supervised by a responsible adult or, as part of a lesson, by David McCallum.
• Mats, tees, ball holders etc. should not be removed from the practice range.
• Any issues with the practice range, or stray balls, should be reported to the General Manager immediately.

We hope members will enjoy this new facility and look forward to seeing it in full use over the remainder of the summer.
